Not happy with your current Microsoft Partner? It could be time to make the switch!

As a Microsoft Partner, we basically all do the same job, right?  Well, in theory, yes – that’s correct. But if your company of choice is letting you down, either before, during or after the implementation of your new Dynamics NAV accounting software it could be time to consider switching to a new provider.

Reasons why you may be considering switching to a different Microsoft Partner

As a Microsoft Partner, we’ve been implementing accounting solutions from many businesses since 2001 and we’ve worked with all kinds of businesses in this time. They all have one thing in common, though: they want to get access to the incredible features of Microsoft’s latest business management and accounting platforms, WITHOUT having to navigate the implementation process themselves.

By far the biggest reason that companies want to move between providers is that they are currently receiving poor support from their existing Partner. Bad service comes in many forms, but in our experience, it usually boils down to the following three things.

  • It takes your Partner too long to respond to your queries (or get any work done at all!)

Everyone’s busy – we get that. But if it’s taking your provider days, if not weeks, to come back to you with answers to your questions, that’s just plain poor. Plus, if you’re waiting for something to be fixed and your system will be at a standstill until the problem has been resolved, chances are you’re losing time and money waiting for your consultant to get the job done. That’s not ideal when you’re paying for a service that should be enhancing your operations, not hindering them.

If you have previously had a good relationship with your point of contact, it can be tempting to ‘put up’ with this kind of service and hope that things will improve or go back to the way they were. But really, why should you settle for anything less than exceptional?

  • Mis-configured set-up

Maybe the consultant hasn’t assessed your situation in enough detail. Perhaps they don’t have the knowledge or the skills to recommend something that’s going to be a good fit for your organisation. Either way, you shouldn’t expect to receive bad advice from a company that proclaims to specialise in the implementation of Microsoft’s business management and accounting solutions.

If you feel uncomfortable with what your provider has been proposing, or you’ve been getting conflicting or downright confusing information from your account manager (at any point during the roll-out), pause for a moment. Take a deep breath. Then, pick up the phone and ask a NAVExpert.   • Too much technical jargon, not enough plain English!

We’re not going to lie – some systems, especially those with a lot of tailor-made components, can be a little tricky to set up. Naturally, you’ll want to be kept in the loop while we’re implementing your brand new Microsoft business solution – but if you’re not particularly tech-minded, being bombarded with complex terminology and showered with industry buzz-words at every turn is not going to do you the world of favours.

Your Microsoft Partner needs to take care to explain everything to you in simple language.
